Job Description

Jubilee Centre is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our team on a part-time and casual basis.

Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor/Nurse Practitioner, the successful candidate will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care within their scope of practice while supporting individuals receiving specialized addiction and mental health services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, RPNs play a vital role in promoting recovery, wellness, and positive client outcomes within both the Intensive Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit and the Mental Health Crisis & Withdrawal Management Services Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, client-centered nursing care in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards
  • Assess, monitor, and document clients’ mental and physical health status
  • Administer medications and monitor responses to treatment interventions
  • Recognize and respond to behaviours associated with addiction, substance use, and mental health disorders
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic health record systems
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm-reduction approaches to care
  • Assist in crisis intervention and stabilization when required
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic environment

Qualifications

Education & Registration

  • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO); or
  • Graduate of an approved RPN program and eligible as a Candidate to the Profession; or
  • Registered RPN in another Canadian province or territory willing to relocate and obtain Ontario registration
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification

Experience

  • Experience in addiction and mental health services preferred
  • Experience working within community-based or residential healthcare settings considered an asset
  • Experience using electronic health records and medication management systems preferred

  • Ability to assess, monitor, and document client health status and responses to treatment
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends

Preference May Be Given To

  • Indigenous applicants (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), particularly those with knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree languages
  • Bilingual applicants (English/French)
  • Individuals with lived experience related to mental health and recovery

Salary & Benefits

Part-Time Wage Range

  • $30.88 – $34.34 per hour (increases in accordance with the Collective Agreement)

Shift Premiums

  • $1.20/hour for evening shifts
  • $1.60/hour for night shifts
